AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENTS: COME ON, HAVE SOME FUN!

 

Northeast Stars Montessori offers after school enrichment programs for 24 months to 5 year olds that are not only fun, but can unlock the inherent potentials and intelligences within each child. The programs are fee-based and are open to the general public. All classes are held at Northeast Stars.

Creative Movement
offered in conjunction with Joy of Motion Dance Studio introduces the basic elements of dance including rhythm and time, movement qualities and dynamics, space, and use of the body. Students explore their own movement while gaining confidence and body awareness.

 

French and Chinese classes facilitated by Communikids helps students focus on speaking and listening skills as they become more comfortable with the target language through the full-immersion model. Circle time, puppet play, storytelling, crafts, movement, and music are conducted using only the target language.

 

Karate classes facilitated by Dietrich's are FUN and full of expression and excitement. Kids get to jump, duck, move, dance, freeze as they take part in drills disguised as games that increase their coordination and build their self esteem.

 

Reading and Writing Workshop enhances elementary school readiness for 4 and 5 year olds. Based on the fun, entertaining and educationally sound instructional methods of Handwriting Without TearsĀ® and Phono-Graphix, this workshop reinforces literacy skills taught in the Montessori classroom and other top-rated private and public schools. A trained specialist will lead small groups of no more than three children through two 30-minute sessions each week to work on pencil grip and writing technique, posture, overall legibility, letter and number reversals, letter and number formation (print), spacing of words, consonant letter combinations, beginning to read and spell three sound words.

 

Science Club provides hands-on child centered lessons for our budding scientists to explore the role science plays in our everyday lives from magnets to bubbles, insects to volcanoes, and more!
